The Scott Research Group

Inorganic chemistry research at the University of Bath

Welcome!

We are a new research group based in the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bath, working to address some of the most pressing contemporary challenges in molecular inorganic chemistry. Our specific interests include small molecule activation, the reactivity of earth-abundant d- and p-block elements, and the use of underexplored photo-/electro-chemical methods.

If you are interested in learning more about our research please refer to the dedicated research page, or have a look at some of our most recent publications.

If you are interested in joining the group or are simply curious to know what options may be available then please do not hesitate to get in contact.

You can also follow the group at @ScottChemistry.

Summer Jeffery

ISCC summer student (2025)

Summer is a summer placement student with the ISCC researching acridinium-based conPET (consecutive photoinduced electron transfer) catalysis. She has completed her MChem Masters at the University of Bath and is going on to do a PhD with Dr. Andreas Phanopoulos in heteromultimetallic catalysts for CO2 reduction

Outside the lab Summer enjoys going in the sea, knitting, baking and reading.
